I envy you guys. It must be great to be wealthy. I recently sold my
Olympus OM-1. It isn't that I don't like film, it's just that I love
photography, and, unlike my richer geocaching brothers and sisters on the
list, I can't afford the film and processing. I take a lot of photos. On a
typical "shooting" day I will take several hundred, and I like to shoot once
a week or so. I haven't paid for film and processing lately, so I don't
know the current costs. How much would it run me to shoot my 300 photos a
week on film and get them processed? Whatever it is, I'm sure it's more
than I pay for the digital photos, which is nothing. Since I am content to
view most of them on the screen, which is bigger and brighter than a print
would be anyway, I don't even have that cost. On the occasion that I do
print one, an 8x10 costs me 50 cents or so.

Now, don't get me wrong, I love 35mm film. I own a movie theater, and I
handle more film in a week than most people do in a lifetime. Luckily I
just rent those. Now, if you just can't live without film photography, I
recommend that you start stockpiling it in a freezer, because in a few short
years you will have trouble getting it. Have you tried to buy any new vinyl
record albums lately?

Trisha...................How can you possibly operate that "old" manual
camera you have? Are there classes on how to set your F stop and shutter
speed? I'll bet you don't even have a PDA or wireless printer either! Shame
on you! Video(camera) cell phones and portable DVD are all the rage, ya
know. Can you imagine the world without cell phones plastered to every young
girls head and a lack of Playstations in everyone's living room. Geez, we
might as well go back to covered wagons and Morse code. I have an employee
that figures he is naked if he doesn't have his cell phone hooked to his
hip. What the heck has happened. The techno world has taken over,I guess. I
do have a cell phone, by the way, but try to use it for business or limited
personal calls only. I have people who have chewed me out because I didn't
answer my cell phone or turned it off. I can't seem to get them to
understand, that it is for "my" convenience, not "theirs". Anyway, I have to
out and grease the windmill rotor, as I'm running low on power.
P.S.........My Minolta Maxxum ( circa 1985) still works perfectly
