Notes from the Garmin site for the Legend (similar
ones exist for the Vista). Pay attention to item 3.

Bob Renner

1. Reverting back to previously released versions
   will clear user memory.

2. Users are strongly urged to backup any user data
   they wish to save.

3. WARNING: If your current software version is 2.50
or lower, this software will clear all unit data
including alamanac information. Backup all user
data before upgrading. After installation is
complete, place unit with a clear view of the sky
for 15-30 minutes to re-acquire almanac data.

4. WARNING: If this software is uploaded to a device
other than that for which it is designed, you will
not be able to operate that device.

5. If attempts to upload software fail, you may need
to return the device to GARMIN for service.
