The concept of "team" is a big part of Geodashing, so maybe you might find
how it's done in that sister sport of interest. Individuals always hunt
and report target waypoints individually, but groups of players have their
individual scores added together for team scores.

There are some husband/wife players who choose to report only one score.
There is a brother/brother combination who sometimes go out together and
each reports separately. There are friend/friend/friend combinations who
sometimes go out together, sometimes separately, and they all report separately.

All in all, it works fairly well. What would cause trouble if there are
two or more people who all share the same ID, but don't always travel together.
That would be seen as an unfair advantage. Because the friendly competition
is a big part of Geodashing, we would have to forbid that. I don't know
if it makes much difference or not in geocaching, where the competition,
even the friendly type, and the scoring, is not such a big deal.

By the way, I've lurked for a long time, but haven't posted because I'm
not an Arizonan. I do admire the camaraderie that you have developed here.
