[Az-Geocaching] New Stats!! Yet Again :)

Holmes, Richard E. az-geocaching@listserv.snaptek.com

Well, I had assumed that you somehow identified AZ teams to build your team
stats. However, on further inspection, it appears that you are using cache
stats to build your team stats, and that the number of non-AZ teams logging
into AZ caches would be in the noise; comparatively. If this is what you
have done, a similar logic could be used to identify the percentage of
non-AZ teams in any one cache. Teams with a high percentage of out-of-state
finds, could be considered non-AZ, and even if they weren't, they would
appear to travel a lot. So, caches recording a high percentage of log-ins
from non-AZ/traveling cachers would be good candidates for "travelers" or
bugs.

Was that too wordy to be clear, or just flat wrong?

A quote from a cache log for Sneaky Peak
http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=9579

"I just happened to have an afro wig in the backseat of my car"

I carry a lot of crazy things around in my truck, but nothing like that!

How 'bout for each cache, percentage finds by non-Zonies. This would aid in

The only problem is that we don't know what teams are from what state or
even country. The stats on our page are stats about the caches in arizona,
not the teams in arizona.

I would love to be able to do your suggested stat but I just don't have the
information.

I know it's not cheap. If needed, we may try for a smaller houseboat (but
that also means fewer people). We'll need some type of tag along boat. We
need something to get around the lake (to the caches) and canyons to explore
in. You can't take the large houseboat everywhere. You usually take the
houseboat to where you want to spend the night, then use the tag along for
exploring and fun. Speedboat isn't quite the proper description, but it is
fast enough to have fun in. The power boat only costs about $30 a day per
person.

We'll keep you informed of details. Start saving your pennies (okay -
dollars). You've got 7 months to plan!
